Maya's Story

My name is Maya. 

 

I nearly died as a baby and suffered much as a child. My mother died when I was 12, and when I was young, I went to a steep hill to cut grass for the animals.  I fell from my field, and my father found me unconscious.  My life was saved, but I could not speak for many days.  My mind was affected some. Also, there was no school in my village. 

 

For many years I suffered and could not learn, but now, I’ve had a chance to learn to read in the H.E.L.P. literacy class, and the chance to know Christ.
